A delightful side dish combining sweet potatoes, maple syrup, and crunchy pecans, perfect for Thanksgiving.

- 4 cups sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot, cook sweet potatoes in boiling water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash.
- In a bowl, mix mashed sweet potatoes with maple syrup, milk, melted butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth.
- Spread the sweet potato mixture in a lightly greased baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine chopped pecans, brown sugar, and a little melted butter.
- Sprinkle the pecan mixture over the sweet potatoes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes or until the top is golden and crunchy.
- Serve warm as a side dish for Thanksgiving.
Notes
For added crunch, feel free to top with extra pecans before baking. Can be prepared a day in advance and baked on the day of serving.
