How to Make Stuffed Bell Peppers at Home

Description

Stuffed Bell Peppers are a healthy and flavorful dinner filled with ground beef, rice, and cheese.


Ingredients

Scale

4 large bell peppers, any color

1 pound ground beef

1 cup cooked rice

1 small onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup tomato sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit

2. Cut tops off bell peppers and remove seeds

3. In a skillet, cook ground beef until browned

4. Add onion and garlic and cook until soft

5. Stir in cooked rice, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper

6. Spoon mixture into hollowed bell peppers

7. Place stuffed peppers in a baking dish and cover with foil

8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes

9. Remove foil, sprinkle mozzarella on top, and bake 5 to 10 more minutes

10. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving

Notes

Choose firm and evenly shaped bell peppers

Cook rice slightly underdone

Add Parmesan or cheddar to the filling for extra flavor

Cover baking dish while baking to retain moisture

Serve immediately for best taste
