Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup warm water (110°F–115°F)
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 teaspoons garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 medium yellow onions (thinly sliced)
- 1 pound ground beef
- 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- 1 cup mild cheddar cheese (shredded)
- ⅔ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 2 teaspoons freshly chopped parsley (plus more for garnish)
- 1 teaspoon garlic (minced)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add olive oil, minced garlic, and kosher salt. Stir in flour gradually until a dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- While dough is rising, heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
- In another pan, brown the ground beef and stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until fully browned.
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, lemon juice, black pepper, parsley, and minced garlic. Set aside.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out the focaccia dough on a floured surface to fit your pizza pan.
- Spread the patty melt sauce over the dough. Layer the ground beef, caramelized onions, and both cheeses on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Slice the pizza and serve hot, garnished with additional chopped parsley.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Can freeze slices wrapped tightly. For a crispy crust, bake on a preheated pizza stone.
