Infused Floral Ice Cubes: Easy DIY Aesthetic Drink Garnishes

  • Total Time: 4 hours
  • Yield: 12 ice cubes 1x

Description

Add a touch of whimsy to any drink with these beautiful infused floral ice cubes. Easy to make and customizable with edible flowers, herbs, and fruit!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Distilled Water
  • ½ cup Edible Flowers (such as pansies, violas, roses, chamomile, lavender)
  • Optional: Fresh herbs (mint, basil, rosemary)
  • Optional: Small fruit pieces (berries, citrus zest)

Instructions

  1. 1. Prepare the Flowers: Gently wash the edible flowers and herbs to remove any dirt or insects. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. 2. Arrange in Ice Cube Trays: Place one or two flowers or herbs in each compartment of the ice cube tray. You can cut larger flowers to fit. If using fruits, add tiny pieces along with the flowers.
  3. 3. Add Distilled Water: Carefully pour distilled water over the flowers, filling each compartment to the top. Using distilled water ensures clearer ice cubes.
  4. 4. Freeze: Place the ice cube tray in the freezer for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, until completely frozen.
  5. 5. Release from Tray: To remove the ice cubes, let the tray sit at room temperature for a few minutes, or gently twist the tray. You can also run the bottom of the tray under warm water for a few seconds, being careful not to melt the ice cubes.
