Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- 1. Combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a medium saucepan.
- 2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir constantly until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Be careful not to boil.
- 3. If using chocolate chips, add them to the saucepan and continue stirring until melted and fully incorporated.
- 4. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- 5. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- 6. Pour the mixture into a bowl or container and let it cool to room temperature. Then, cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.

- 8. Transfer to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours to allow it to firm up. Serve and enjoy!
