- 9 cups Chex cereal (rice, corn, or a combination)
- 1 package (12 ounces) white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup butter, salted
- 1/2 cup strawberry cake mix
- 1/4 cup freeze dried strawberries, crushed
- 2 teaspoons strawberry extract
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup freeze dried strawberries, pulverized into powder
- 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
- In a large microwave safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and butter. Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
- Stir in the strawberry cake mix and strawberry extract into the melted white chocolate mixture until well combined. Then, add the crushed freeze dried strawberries for an extra punch of strawberry flavor.
- Pour the Chex cereal into a large bowl. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal, and gently fold until all the cereal is evenly coated. Make sure every piece is covered because you want the sweetness in every bite!
- In a large zip top bag, combine the powdered sugar and pulverized freeze dried strawberries.
- Add the coated cereal to the bag with the powdered sugar mixture. Seal the bag and shake well until all the cereal is evenly coated and no clumps remain.
- Spread the puppy chow on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool and set completely.
