Description

A delightful and comforting homemade bread that’s soft and buttery, perfect as a side dish or for sandwiches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water (105°F – 110°F)
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
  2. Slowly pour in warm water and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Mix well until the dough comes together; it will be sticky.
  4. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until it doubles in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Once the dough has risen, pour the melted unsalted butter into a baking dish.
  7. Punch down the dough gently and pour it into the melted butter without stirring.
  8. Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Best served warm. Slice and spread butter or enjoy with jam. Pairs well with soups and salads.
