A delicious copycat version of Cafe Rio Sweet Pork, perfect for tacos, burritos, or salads.
Ingredients

- 3 lbs pork shoulder
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sweet red salsa
- 1 can (12 oz) Dr. Pepper
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, salsa, Dr. Pepper, vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the pork.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender.
- Shred the pork with two forks and mix it with the sauce.
- Serve in tacos, burritos, or salads.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the pork shoulder overnight with the sauce before cooking. Adjust the amount of salsa based on your preferred spice level. Can substitute pork with chicken, reducing cooking time to 4-6 hours on low.
