Description

Indulge in these delightful chocolate pancakes, perfect for breakfast or a special treat. They’re easy to make and pair well with various toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Chocolate chips (optional)
  • Syrup, berries, or whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, and melted butter until combined.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  4. Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  5. Pour 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until bubbles form on the surface. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Serve warm topped with syrup, berries, or whipped cream.

Notes

Be careful not to overmix the batter to keep pancakes fluffy. Test skillet temperature with a drop of batter; if it sizzles, it’s ready!
